Carpal Tunnel wristIf you have a job that requires that you use the computer frequently, you may suffer from carpal tunnel. This syndrome can lead to pain that can be debilitating and prevent you from working. Fortunately, a trip to a chiropractor can yield a solution that will alleviate your carpal tunnel.

The Wrist Splint

The two treatments that chiropractors use to create patients with carpal tunnel are wrist supports and ultrasound therapy. Wrist supports ensure that your wrists are in the proper alignment. The wrist splint should be worn while typing to achieve the desired results.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound therapy uses a high or low-energy sound to penetrate deep tissue. This helps relax muscles and alleviate pain. The course of ultrasound therapy lasts several weeks before the therapy begins to produce great results. It is best used as a supplement to other methods, such as the wrist splint. This can alleviate the symptoms of carpal tunnel and allow you to recover more quickly.

Manipulation

The manipulation of the wrist, upper arm and spine can improve the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome. These adjustments are meant to correct improper alignment. The adjustments are performed either with the chiropractor’s hands or with instruments. Treating other parts of the body is sometimes necessary too treat the wrist.
